About us

Crafted for connoisseurs, designed by experts

Over the years, we’ve encountered many elegant yet fundamentally flawed wine cellars — none of which, we should add, were our designs. We’ve seen bottles stored at incorrect angles or exposed to unsuitable temperatures and humidity levels. We've heard of racking systems that collapsed under their own load, cooling units that failed to preserve valuable collections, and layouts that couldn’t accommodate non-standard bottle sizes or cases.

At the heart of every one of these missteps lies a common issue: a lack of expertise.

At Wine Architecture Global, expertise is our hallmark. Whether you are a private or corporate client - or an architect, designer or agent - you can enjoy peace of mind, confident that we have the cellaring experience, wine knowledge and creative vision needed to turn ambitions ideas into practical, enduring cellar solutions.

Mark Dickens, Creative Director

Creative Director, Mark Dickens, has a worldwide reputation for designing distinctive wine, cocktail and spirit storage solutions using an extensive variety of materials. But for Mark, it’s never just about how a space looks.

He’s passionate about anticipating challenges not specified in the original brief, solving problems before they arise, and designing out-of-this-world wine spaces for real-world-use .

His guiding principle? Form and function, always in balance

What elevates Mark and his WSET-trained team above others is their ability to think like collectors. They understand the unique needs of those who value fine wine, spirits, and cigars — and they have the technical expertise to match. From replicating precise environmental conditions to concealing complex systems behind seamless design, Wine Architecture Global ensures every space is as functional as it is beautiful.

Mark Dickens is one the UK’s most sought-after designers of luxury wine and bottle storage. His wine and cocktail spaces proudly grace some of the country’s most distinguished private residences and acclaimed Michelin-starred restaurants - while his distinctive design language continues to captivate discerning clients across Europe, the Middle East and beyond.

With a background in Mechanical Engineering and Interior Design, Mark offers a distinctive blend of technical mastery and refined design sensibility. His career began with Astound, one of the UK’s leading retail design consultancies, where he led interior projects for international luxury brands across Europe and the Gulf region.

He went on to serve as Chief Operating Officer at John Cullen Lighting, a brand synonymous with high-end residential lighting. There, he honed his expertise in architectural lighting design - crafting atmospheres that enhance elegance, comfort, and spatial flow, in homes and private residences around the world, including prominent projects in the Middle East.

A passionate fine wine collector and long-time mixologist, Mark later brought his vision to Spiral Cellars as Creative Lead, redefining the way wine is integrated into luxury residential interiors and hospitality settings. His distinctive, globally inspired designs became a hallmark of the brand’s “wine cellars less ordinary” ethos—delivering one-of-a-kind spaces for private villas, high-rise penthouses, boutique hotel and VIP lounges from London to the Middle East.

The Wine Architecture Global difference.
